Inspired by Gilat

The foundation was created in memory of Gilat Eisenmann z”l, a vibrant and imaginative 11-year-old who passed away in 2008.

Gilat lit up the corridors of Emma Children’s Hospital with her laughter and creativity. Today, her spirit lives on in every performance, every smile, and every child whose life is touched by this work.

Our Story

The Gilat Foundation in Israel is rooted in one child’s legacy and built on a simple but powerful idea: that emotional healing is just as essential as physical care.

Gilat Eisenmann z”l was 11 years old when she passed away from a rare illness in 2008. Bright, creative, and full of life, Gilat brought light and laughter into the pediatric ward where she spent her final months. In her memory, her parents, Tali and Jair Eisenmann, created a foundation dedicated to bringing that same light to other children in hospitals across Israel.

Today, the Gilat Foundation supports some of Israel’s most vulnerable pediatric patients—children battling complex, long-term illnesses and those recovering from trauma or displacement. Many are far from home, undergoing treatment for months at a time, isolated from the rhythms of normal childhood.

We meet them where they are, in the places they need us most: their hospital rooms.
